                        The Chimpanzee

Many years ago a friend of mine worked for a large tobacco company. He has since "seen the light" and now speaks out against the tobacco industry.
This is a story he told me from his days in the primate laboratory where tobacco research was conducted on chimpanzees and orangutans. Please listen to the story...

As a follow up note I wanted to add that with perseverance, researchers did in fact get the chimps and orangutans to learn to smoke and even inhale tobacco smoke. But I'm still quite certain that sucking soot into our lungs is by no means "natural" or in accordance with the laws of this universe.

I remember watching an orangutan smoke a cigar when I visited the Smithsonian Institute and National Zoo as a child. The janitor saw us enjoying the orangutan's antics. He thought we would really enjoy watching the big orange haired orangutan puff on the janitor's cigar. Well, I must confess - he was right. We all laughed at the poor animal, quite unconcerned for the animal's lungs. Oh, those seemed like such innocent days - 1970. Please remember that even if smoking has become common or familiar, it is NOT natural. You deserve better!

How can I help you get smoke-free and stay smoke-free?
I was a three pack/day soot sucker and I really enjoy helping others!
